By law, the Florida Department of Education does not act as an accrediting agency. In Florida, accreditation of non-public schools and programs is entirely voluntary.

The National Lutheran Schools Association, LC-MS, accredits Sarasota Lutheran School. The criteria and evaluation procedures used by this agency are approved for accreditation within our state. Accreditation offers the assurance that the school is fulfilling its published purpose and philosophy, that the faculty is certified and meets all educational requirements, and that the adopted curriculum is up to educational standards.
