Enrollment and Financial

ENROLLMENT POLICIES

1.      Enrollment opens to school families and the community in January.

 

2.      Return completed application form along with the appropriate registration fee.

 

3.      Parents will meet with the Principal / Director for a pre-admission meeting.

4.      Applications for enrollment are accepted on a first come basis in the following order:

a.      Children of members of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church

b.      Children of other Lutheran churches

c.      Children from the community

5.      A review of previous school report cards will be done.  The report card should show the successful completion of grades with no problems beyond the scope of our staff and structure.

6.      Sarasota Lutheran School reserves the right to request testing for the appropriate placement of a student in addition to the right to refuse admittance to any student whose academic needs would be better met in a different learning environment.  A probationary period may be required upon admittance.  If testing is required, there will be a $50.00 testing fee payable the day of the test.

7.      Parents will be notified of their child’s official enrollment at Sarasota Lutheran School.

8.      Students are enrolled with the understanding that they will remain for the full school year or at the discretion of the school.

Financial Policies

Sarasota Lutheran School is supported primarily by tuition.  Financial support also comes from  contributions of the members of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church who support the work of the school as part of the total parish program.

 

Students are enrolled with the understanding that they will remain for the full school year or at the discretion of the school.  Tuition payments remain in effect through the year.  There will be no reduction in tuition rates or refunds given due to absence, dismissal, withdrawal, holidays, and/or any unpredictable circumstance, like the weather 

 

A non-refundable registration/book/supply fee is required upon submission of an application.    Each family must return a signed financial agreement and Childcare agreement form before the first day of scheduled attendance of school. 

 

 

Withdrawal

If it becomes necessary for any reason to withdraw a child during the school year, written notification must be received in advance.  Notification should be received as early as possible and include a reason for withdrawal.  The current monthly tuition fees are applicable and all other fees are non-refundable.    Student records will be released when the account balance is paid in full.

 

Tuition Payments

The yearly tuition is payable in full by August 1 (with a 1% discount applied), in two payments due August 1st & January 1st, or in ten or twelve monthly payments (only returning families may select the 12 month plan).  The first payment for all plans is due August 1.  Discounts are offered if the tuition is paid in full in advance of the school year:

  • 4% discount if paid by April 1st of the preceeding school year
  • 3% discount if paid by May 1st of the preceeding school year
  • 2% discount if paid by June 1st of the preceeding school year

Sarasota Lutheran School is pleased to offer automated payment services through Tuition Management Services. For information on this program, please check with our school office.

 

Payments are due the 1st of each month.  If payment is not received by the 10th of the month, the account will be considered delinquent, and a late charge of $20.00 will be added to the account. 

 

For any account that is two months delinquent, the student(s) loses the privilege of attending classes, completing assignments, taking exams, and participating in any school function until the account is made current.

 

Accounts must be current for grades, test scores and/or transcripts to be distributed.   All financial obligations must be met for records to be transferred or released to another learning facility.    

 

Payments may be made via check, credit card (Visa or MasterCard), money order, or cash in the school office.  Classroom teachers cannot accept tuition payments.  Check and money order payments can also be mailed to 5651 Honore Avenue Sarasota, FL  34233.  Please make all payments payable to Sarasota Lutheran School.
