Philosophy and Objectives
S part of one holy catholic and apostolic church, we believe it is God’s gracious will that all people come to know Him as a God of grace and mercy. This means that whatever is needed to become part of His church, He gives. Life with Him, now and forever, is His gift to us. That’s pure grace! We furthermore believe that it is His gracious purpose that every human capability and all earthly resources work for the common good. This means that we learn, we develop, and we grow academically, so that we might be a blessing now and throughout adult life.
We believe all noble effort and institutions are part of God’s gracious purposes to care for each generation. Sarasota Lutheran School and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church are honored to participate in this ministry. The students of Sarasota Lutheran School will be led to place education in the context of God’s purposes. The impact and influence of professional teachers who understand and believe in this God of Grace and His purposes will provide a positive context designed to meet the spiritual, academic, emotional and physical needs of each student.
The objectives of Sarasota Lutheran School will be to:

4. Teach a child to treat everyone with dignity and self-worth as a part of God’s creation.
5. Prepare a child to make sensible, valid decisions based on sound faith and knowledge derived from scripture.
6. Develop a mastery of academic disciplines as appropriate for each child.
